DANCE TO UNITE
BHARATHANATYAM is a very popular Classical Dance originated in South Indian State of Tamil Nadu. Its origin dates back to ancient times. SADIR, a dance worship performed by DEVDASIS in Temples of India evolved into different Classical Dance Forms in various regions. MOHINIYATTOM and ODISSI are some other examples of Indian Classical dances evolved from Temple rituals.

This dance form is unique in its style, presentation, and its colourful costumes. The jewellery used in BHARATHANATYAM is very attractive.

BHARATHANATYAM is known for its graceful movements, intrinsic footwork, use of hand gestures and attractive postures. This dance form is always accompanied by songs based on CARNATIC CLASSICAL MUSIC, the music stream originated and popular in South India. Most common accompanying instruments are MRUDANGAM, FLUTE and Violin. NATTUVANGM controls the footwork and is always played by the GURU.
